Meet Coach Latrice
I spent 15 years working in the mortgage industry, helping individuals navigate the home loan process. During that time, I saw a pattern that changed everything for me.
People would come in ready to buy a home — but get denied due to credit, income, or debt. And the hardest part? There was never enough time to truly explain why.
In 2019, I became a Certified Financial Coach and joined the New Haven Financial Empowerment Center. That experience allowed me to finally do the work I felt was missing — sitting with individuals and families, walking through their credit, breaking down their debt, building budgets, and helping them create real financial goals. That's where everything shifted.
I realized that financial education isn't just about numbers — it's about confidence, clarity, and removing the shame and guilt that so many people carry around money.
